Get Fit, Franklin County is a movement; a call to action to get moving!

Only 20% of our County’s residents reported having exercised for 30 minutes, 5 days per week.          Our goal is to increase that number.

We encourage all community members to adopt more active lifestyles for healthier lives. Any increase in physical activity is a step towards a healthier you!

BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

  • Boost mood, improve sleep, reduce stress & sharpen focus

  • Reduce risk of dementia, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers - including breast and lung cancer

  • Help manage chronic conditions, like diabetes and high blood pressure

  • Ease symptoms of arthritis, anxiety, and depression

Adults need a least 150 minutes & kids need at least 60 minutes every day of moderate-intensity
aerobic activity!
