Healthy Franklin County, a local health improvement coalition, is accepting nominations for the inaugural Community Health Champion award(s) that will be announced this fall at the Franklin County Health Summit on October 20th at Wilson College. Healthy Franklin County works with community-based organizations that are doing extraordinary work to improve the health and well-being of Franklin County residents.
Healthy Franklin County will recognize three Community Health Champions in the following categories:
Healthy Franklin County Community Health Champion (Organizational Award) (Large healthcare organizations like Keystone Health and WellSpan Health are not eligible however individual employees may be nominated in the other two categories).
Healthy Franklin County Community Health Outstanding Young Professional (a person < 40 years of age)
Healthy Franklin County Community Health Champion (someone who has dedicated their entire career to making a difference)

Healthy Franklin County is also accepting submissions of success stories which highlight the impact of services and programs that community-based organizations provide to clients or consumers. These stories will be featured at the Franklin County Health Summit.
Story submissions should focus on one or more of the following focus areas:
mental health
food security
nutrition and physical activity
early childhood and development
the social determinants of health.
More than one story per organization may be submitted but should be submitted separately. Please submit this form no later than September 16, 2022. If your story is selected, you will be asked to identify someone to read the story at the health summit on October 20th.
The Franklin County Heath Summit is sponsored by WellSpan Health and is open and free to the community. Registration for the health summit is open now. In addition to the success stories to highlight the impact of local organizations, and the community health champion awards, the health summit will feature the release of WellSpan Health’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The CHNA helps Healthy Franklin County and its community partners address identified health priorities. The event will also include a panel and table-top discussions.
